Finaly I got a moment to answer the questions, it have been crazy here..... Really sorry for the delay
Could you say us more about Komika ?
-
Komika is a new, couple of years old, publishing house that specialice in BD/Comics.
Why have you decided to published Chaland ?
-
Chaland is one of the great artists that should be translated, and I really like Chalands work personaly.
Have you a direct contact with Isabelle Beaumenay-Joannet or by Humanoides associés ?
My contact have only been with Humanoides associés.
Is there others books of Chaland published in Sweden ?
No, my book with the two Freddy stories is the first book published with Chalands work in Sweden.
Is this work have influence some Swedish comic authors ?
No, I could not say so, but I hope that he will.
Do you know if the answer of the readers in Sweden are good with this book ?
The interest is big enough, I could do more books with Chalands work in the future.
Which is the hard copy of this edition?
This questioon I do no understand...
Are Tung Metal and Epix popular magazines in Sweden ? Have you an idea of the contribution of Chaland in this magazines ?
Tung Metal and Epix there qute popular in their time, but they are no more. Epix existed between 84-92 and Tung Metall 86-90.
In Tung Metal there were four stories published, one together with Cornillon ("Dewsburys mästerverk" - "Le chef d’œuvre de Dewsbury"), And three own stories "Robotarnas hämnd" (do not know the french title, in english it should The revenge of the robots"), "Skräckens natt" (in french Une nuit de terreur) and "Den marsianska marknaden" (do not know the french title either, in english it should be something like 'The marcian market'). In Epix two Freddy stories there published "Cimetière des éléphants" and "Vacances à Budapest" - and some pages of "Jeune Albert". One third magazine from a different short-lived publsiher, Pulserande Metal, published some Jeune Albert, "Bob Mémory" and Atomax in 1984.
What could say about the work of Chaland ?
Everything and nothing... I think his work is fantastic, and that I hope to publsih a lot more of him in Sweden. I think it is strange that he could do so much good work in so short time. The style he devoloped is one of the must unique in the world of comics.
Is there others "ligne Claire" authors who are published and appreciate in Sweden ... FLOC'H Benoit Cornillon Clerc .... ? And Specially by Komika ?
There are not so many books published, but FLOC'H, Clerc and some others there published in the magazines like Epix and Tung Metal in the eighties. I hope that Komika could fill the gap. Yves Chaland is hopefully only the beginning. This year I also publish Ulf K and Stanislas and works of Lewis Trondheim (not really ligne Claire, but...).
All the best
Mikke Schirén
Voilà !
